Biography
Dedicated defense backed by real trial experience, Attorney David Olson brings a strong foundation in criminal defense and courtroom advocacy to his clients at Cohen Law Offices. With experience as a former public defender, David understands the justice system from the inside and is committed to protecting the rights and futures of those he represents.
Originally from Amery, Wisconsin, David pursued his undergraduate education at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies. During his time there, he was an active member of the Political Science and Public Administration Association, further strengthening his interest in law and public service.
David went on to attend Vermont Law School, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 2023. While in law school, he distinguished himself academically and professionally, serving as the Articles Editor for the Vermont Law Review from 2022 to 2023. He also represented the school in the 2022 National Trial Competition, gaining valuable hands-on litigation experience.
Following law school, David served as a public defender, where he spent 2.5 years advocating for clients facing a wide range of criminal charges. This role gave him extensive courtroom experience and a deep understanding of how to build strong, strategic defenses under pressure.
Today, David continues that work at Cohen Law Offices, where he is dedicated to providing aggressive and compassionate representation for every client.
When he’s not practicing law, David enjoys spending time outdoors. Whether it’s fishing, gardening, or taking walks, he values time spent in nature with his fiancé, Karra, and their dog, Marjorie.
